Principal's Message
Dear Parents,Lake Brantley High School has long enjoyed the many benefits of a 4x4 block schedule. However, due to the economic downturn and the effects this has had on state and district budgets, it is inevitable that we must move to a less expensive form of scheduling. In effect, to comply with the Class Size Amendment (25 average in academic classes) we would need more teachers than we can afford in our budget.
In the next month, we will explore many different 7 period day schedules. We will choose the schedule that is most beneficial to our students. The committee studying these options will have parent representation and will solicit input from all stakeholders.
To parents of juniors, please be assured we are looking very closely at your student's schedules to make certain that this change will not adversely affect any student who is on track to graduate. We have already begun this process.
This will be a major change for our school community. I am confident that we will continue the tradition of excellence that we have firmly established at Lake Brantley High School.
