Juniors interested in business have a great opportunity this summer to spend four nights at the University Of South Florida learning more about career choices. If you are a minority student who will be a Senior in good standing, see Ms. Porter in the Building 7 office about a Summer Residency Program sponsored by Florida Business Leaders.

Do you want information on how to get started with after high school plans? Pack your lunch and join Mrs. McCall & Mrs. Riether tomorrow for the first meeting to address college admissions, transcripts, interest inventories and paperwork required. Please meet in 6-105 during 1st lunch; and 8-104 during 2nd lunch. Be on time! Please see Mrs. McCall or Mrs. Riether if you have any questions.

Attention Lake Brantley!! The Young Republicans Club is having a Dunk Tank Fundraiser for Relay For Life on Saturday. Come to Bruster's anytime between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and you could possibly dunk one of your fellow classmates or teachers. Again, that's Saturday at Bruster's from 2-6 p.m. Come out and support Relay For Life!!

The Jefferson Awards Committee is doing a Canned Food Drive until March 22nd. All non-perishable food items will be delivered to Jewish Family Services to benefit needy families in our area. Please send all cans and non-perishable foods to Room 8-126.

Students, do you think you have what it takes to design the Student Planner Cover for next school year? If so, bring your design to Room 8-126 by April 1st. Designs will be judged and the winning design will become the Patriot Planner Cover for the 2010-2011 school year. Come to Room 8-126 if you have any questions!

Cut "Footloose" on March 25th, 26th and 27th. Tickets are only $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for students and children. Fight for your right to dance by coming to "Footloose" in the Lake Brantley Auditorium!!!

Attention all Cultura Hispana/Spanish Club Members, there will be a meeting tomorrow right after school in Room 6-119. Please make sure not to miss it!

Attention Art Students: There will be an Art Honor Society Meeting Friday after school in Room 7-105.

Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Media Center, join Lake Brantley's own two jazz bands at "Sweet Brantley Jazz", an evening of coffee, desserts and sweet jazz all served in a coffee house setting. Tickets are $10.00 in advance and $12.00 at the door. You can pick them up in the Band Room near the student parking lot. Again, "Sweet Brantley Jazz" Saturday in the Media Center from 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Come to LC2LC'S meeting tomorrow after school in Room 7-104. Plans of the upcoming fundraiser will be announced. It is never too late to join in on the cause for the abolition of modern-day slavery.

Cheer packets are due TODAY in the Building 5 office and Cheer Try-Outs start next Monday March 22nd and run through March 26th.

All Boys Soccer Players that have not turned in their banquet request form MUST do so by the end of the day today to Coach Kirby in Room 8-124. If you do not turn this information in, you will not be able to attend the banquet on Friday.

Last night the Fast-Pitch Softball Team pounded "21" hits in a "20 to 1" victory over East River. Heather Reeves had "3" hits including a "3-run homer". Ashley Cline and Erika Bellinger each had "4" hits and Chelsea Rohal, Michelle Guzinski, and Kristen Millar had "2" hits to pace the attack. The Lady Patriots will play at home tomorrow night against University.

The Boys Tennis Team improved their record to 7-0 yesterday with a 5-2 win over Hagerty High School. Singles winners were Rushi Amin, Justen Louis, Brett Harris and Danny Saavedra. The number 2 Doubles Team of Mike Shea and Brett Harris also prevailed. The Girls Tennis Team improved their record to 6-1 with a big 4-3 victory over Hagerty yesterday. Singles Singles winners were Nicole Vanrell, Sheridan Shea and Nikki Rode. Dobule winners at the number two position were Nicole Vanrell and Nikki Rode. Both Brantley Tennis Teams are home tomorrow against Seminole. Be there!!

The Girls Lacrosse Teams both came up with big wins last night. J.V. beat the Lyman Greyhounds 10-2, and the Varsity pulled out a 15-4 win. Congratulations to both teams on their victories. The Girls play next Friday at Winter Park.

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team on their 12 to 4 win over Lyman last night. Tim Newton led the way with 3 goals and 1 assist. Andrew Kiggen found the back of the net twice and assisted on 3 others. The team is now 8 and 2 and will play Friday night at home against Lake Howell.

The Boys Volleyball Team defeated Lyman last night in 4 games. After a slow start, the boys came back to secure the win in the 4th game by the score of 25-11. Connor McGrath led the team with 9 kills, 2 aces and 4 blocks while Brandon Smith had 22 assists and 25 digs. The boys are now 6 and 3 and play at Winter Park tomorrow night.

The Varsity Baseball Team beat Hagerty last night 3 to 1. Outstanding defense by Senior Chris Suto who threw-out the tying run at the plate and helped the Patriots to the win. Strong pitching by Junior Daniel Doran and excellent hitting with men in scoring position by Senior Eric Sams and Junior Tanner Blackman. The Patriots are in action today with Oviedo in the house. The J.V. game is at 4:00 p.m. and the Varsity game will follow. Come out and support your Patriots.

Congratulations to the Boys Junior Varsity Weightlifting Team for defeating Lyman yesterday by the score of 48 to 41. The J.V. team is now 3-0 for the season. Congratulations to the following for placing 1st....119 Class Ricky Renee 245 total; 139 Class Jake Pickles 345 total; 169 Class Chris St. Claire 430 total; 183 Class Tyler Estes 440 total; 199 Class Sean Newgent 435 total and 219 Class Steve Gutierrez 460 total. The J.V. Team will compete to defend their Seminole Athletic Conference Title next week at Lyman. Come out and support your Patriot Lifters.

What's in your future? - Come see some exciting possibilities at The Annual Transition Fair For Exceptional Education Students. The Fair will include community colleges, military, agencies offering help and employers looking for students to fill jobs after high school. The Fair will be held tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Seminole State College Student Center - next to the Bookstore. See your ESE teacher for more details.

Do you want information on how to get started with after high school plans? There will be a group starting for all Juniors for four Thursday's beginning this week, March 18th. Topics addressed will include: college admissions, transcripts, interest inventories & paperwork required. Please meet in Room 6-105 during 1st Lunch; and Room 8-104 during 2nd Lunch. Be on time! The Proud Patriot Scholarship is a $500 award that is sponsored by PTSA. Any Senior can be nominated by a teacher, staff member or fellow student. Candidates should be nominated for demonstrating a solid commitment to Lake Brantley, having respect for students, staff and parents, volunteering time and energy when needed and setting an example of the best of what Lake Brantley has to offer. Nomination forms and boxes are located in each Building Office. The nomination deadline is April 1, 2010.

Applications are now available for Newspaper. Anyone interested in applying should see Mrs. Delfiacco in Room 6-219. The deadline is March 31st.

Congratulations to both the Boys and Girls Water Polo Teams on their wins over Lake Howell. The Boy's score was 20 to 3 with Bryce Khoury scoring 4 goals and Gino Campana 1 goal. The Girl's score was 13 to 7 with both Lauren Carver and Kendra Davis scoring 4 goals.

The Boys Tennis Team improved to 6-0 yesterday with a 7-0 drubbing of Oviedo. Led by Seniors Mike Shea, Brett Harris, and Rushi Amin the Patriots swept the singles matches. Also winning in the Singles Division were Justen Louis and Danny Saavedra. Both Doubles Teams also won. Also contributing were Conner Harris, Shen Chen, Alex Clise, Jose Montero, Evan Alman, and Harold Montero. The Patriots are in action again tomorrow, away, against Hagerty High School. Thursday, the Patriots return home for a match against Seminole High School. Come out and watch!!

The Girls Tennis Team improved their record to 5-1 with a 7-0 win over Oviedo. Singles Winners were Danielle Shea, Maria Monroy, Melissa Baker, Melody Davis and Amelia Graham. Double winners were Danielle Shea and Nicole Thompson at #1 and Katie Astle and Amelia Graham at #2. The next home match is Thursay against Seminole.

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team for a 13 to 5 blasting of Hagerty last night. Dylan Soler led the charge with 4 goals and 1 assist. Andrew Kiggen scored 1 and assisted on 3 others. The team is now 7 and 2. The next game is tonight at home versus Lyman at 7:00 p.m.
