Congratulations to the Girls Basketball team for their 1st round playoff win over Spruce Creek. Amber Robinson led the Patriots to victory with 32 points and 28 rebounds. Please come support the Lady Patriots as they play in the semi-finals tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Mary versus Deland.

The Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated Lake Howell last night 58-46. The win inched the Patriots closer to the Seminole Athletic Conference championship. Brandon James led the way with 13 points and Brendan Mooney chipped in with 12 points. The Varsity improved their record to 18-6. Up next is Senior Night tomorrow night at home against Winter Springs. Freshmen start at 4:30 p.m.; J.V. at 6:00 p.m. and Varsity will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. Come early so we can recognize the nine Seniors and their wonderful accomplishments.

Both the Boys J.V. and Varsity Basketball teams defeated Winter Park High School last night. The J.V. won by two and the Varsity won 44-31. Congratulations to the Girls Weight Lifting Team for competing at the Sectional Meet yesterday. A special thanks to Megan Mairs, Abby Ross, Mara Alvarado, Kaley Lake and Kai Brown. All these girls represented their school with pride. A special congratulations goes out to Kai Brown who qualified to participate on February 11th at the FHSAA State Weight Lifting Meet.

Congratulations to the Freshmen Basketball Team who extended their record to 12-0 last night by defeating Hagerty 60-44. Practice for today has been canceled.

The Boys Varsity Basketball Team clinched the number one see in districts with a hard fought 53-49 win over Hagerty. The win improved their record to 17-3. The boys were led by Stephen Gibbs who had 13 points, Brandon James contributed 12 points and Michael Johnson with 9. The J.V. Team also won! Next home game is Friday night against Spruce Creek.

The Boys Varsity Soccer Team ended its regular season last night with an 8 to 0 win over Mount Dora High School. The Patriots were led by Gabriel Ortiz with 2 goals and Craig Caneza with 3 assists. Sandro Cysneiros, Gianfranco Cattarine, Drew Bailey, Jordan Ocampo, Camillo Matallano, and Mateo Gomez also scored for Brantley. Storm Zych, Steven Stafstrom, and Jacob Crumpton combined for the shutout. The Boys travel to Oviedo at 7:00 on Monday night to take on the Lions in the first round of the District Tournament. If they win, they will host the second round of Districts at home on Wednesday night.

Any Girls who participated on the Girls Weightlifting Team need to stop by the Weight Room after school for information from Coach Delfiacco.

Baseball tryouts will begin next Monday at the Baseball Field. You must have your white card completed and stamped in order to tryout. Times for the tryouts are: 10th, 11th and 12th graders at 11:00 a.m., 9th graders at 3:00 p.m.

Boys Tennis tryouts will begin next Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. at the Lake Brantley Tennis Courts. You must have all your paperwork turned in to Mrs. Duncan before trying out. If you have any questions, please see Coach Gooch immediately.

All girls interested in Tennis: Meet our new coach, Mike Branan, tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Tennis Courts. Information for try-outs and the upcoming season will be discussed. Don’t forget you must have a completed sports physical and your white card approved in the Athletic Office before you can try-out.

Boys Lacrosse conditioning will begin next Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Brantley South. You must have a physical on file in the Athletic Office and a white card turn in to Coach Theiss before participating. If you have any questions, please see Coach Theiss in Room 6-205.

Our 3rd Blood Drive of the year is Thursday, January 19th. ROTC Cadets are signing up donors this week. When you sign up at one of the tables, you will receive an appointment card for your designated donation time. The Air Force Ceremonial Brass Band will perform a free concert in the Auditorium next Monday at 7:30 p.m. the band, from Washington, D.C., will perform all types of music — from brass band to jazz to contemporary. Everyone is invited to attend. Tickets, which are free, will be required for admission. Contact the band website: Patriot Band for more information.

Congrats to the Girls Soccer Team on their two recent wins! The Lady Patriots defeated Winter Springs last Friday nigh: 5-0. Nicole Roseland had a goal and two assists, Kasey Rakauskas had a goal and two assists, Marlo Muhall, Ashley Hutagalung and Mary Cunningham each had a goal. Last night the Lady Patriots defeated Orangewood 2-0 for their Senior Night. Nicole Roseland had a goal and an assist. Hailey Burris had a goal and Kasey Rakauskas had an assist. Great job ladies!

All Varsity Football Players need to meet today after school in the Gym for a short informational meeting about the banquet.

The Boys Varsity Basketball team made it 11 wins in a row with a 49-42 win last night against Spruce Creek to improve their record to 13-2. Brandon James led the Patriots with 13 points and Michael Johnson added 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Boys next game is tomorrow night at home against Seminole with Freshmen playing a 4:30 p.m.; J.V. at 6:00 p.m.; and the Varsity will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. The teams have appreciated the outstanding support they have received from the student section!

Come out tonight to the Girls Varsity Soccer Game for Senior Night at 6:00 p.m. Don’t miss your last chance to support Elana Ainsley, Shayna Brock, Mary Cunningham and Paige Fink as they take on the Orangewood Rams!
