<p><strong>The Tea Club is holding its first “Tea and Movie Night” tonight </strong>with an open mic portion starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Community Room. We will be showing the 80&#8242;s classic &#8220;The Princess Bride”. Tickets are $3.00 presale and $5.00 at the door.</p>

Congratulations to the Girls Basketball team for their 1st round playoff win over Spruce Creek. Amber Robinson led the Patriots to victory with 32 points and 28 rebounds. Please come support the Lady Patriots as they play in the semi-finals tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Mary versus Deland. </p>
<p><strong>The Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated Lake Howell last night 58-46.</strong> The win inched the Patriots closer to the Seminole Athletic Conference championship. Brandon James led the way with 13 points and Brendan Mooney chipped in with 12 points. The Varsity improved their record to 18-6. Up next is Senior Night tomorrow night at home against Winter Springs. Freshmen start at 4:30 p.m.; J.V. at 6:00 p.m. and Varsity will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. Come early so we can recognize the nine Seniors and their wonderful accomplishments.</p>

<p>Congratulations to the Girls Weight Lifting Team for competing at the Sectional Meet yesterday. A special thanks to Megan Mairs, Abby Ross, Mara Alvarado, Kaley Lake and Kai Brown. All these girls represented their school with pride. A special congratulations goes out to Kai Brown who qualified to participate on February 11th at the FHSAA State Weight Lifting Meet.</p>

<p><strong>Congratulations to the Freshmen Basketball Team who extended their record </strong>to 12-0 last night by defeating Hagerty 60-44. Practice for today has been canceled.</p>
<p><strong>The Boys Varsity Basketball Team clinched the number one see in districts </strong>with a hard fought 53-49 win over Hagerty. The win improved their record to 17-3. The boys were led by Stephen Gibbs who had 13 points, Brandon James contributed 12 points and Michael Johnson with 9.  The J.V. Team also won! Next home game is Friday night against Spruce Creek. </p>

<p><strong>The Boys Varsity Soccer Team ended its regular season last night with an 8 to 0 win </strong>over Mount Dora High School. The Patriots were led by Gabriel Ortiz with 2 goals and Craig Caneza with 3 assists. Sandro Cysneiros, Gianfranco Cattarine, Drew Bailey, Jordan Ocampo, Camillo Matallano, and Mateo Gomez also scored for Brantley. Storm Zych, Steven Stafstrom, and Jacob Crumpton combined for the shutout. The Boys travel to Oviedo at 7:00 on Monday night to take on the Lions in the first round of the District Tournament. If they win, they will host the second round of Districts at home on Wednesday night.</p>

Rosemary Hutchison won by decision 6-0 over Cypress Creek; Makenzie Zoller won by pin at 1:31 over Cypress Creek, won by pin at 54 second over Osceola and won by major decision Cypress Creek; Olivia Dunbar won by decision 8-0 over Cypress Creek; Grace Gabrovic  won by injury default over Cypress Creek winning 11-0 at the time; Amelia Gabrovic won by pin at 3:34 over Lyman and lost to Liberty 8-1. We will have work from all the art teachers in Seminole county, and the exhibit includes painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics and more! There is a free opening reception &#8211; with food &#8211; tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.</p>
<p><strong>Happy New Year Lake Brantley!!! The Class of 2014 will continue to collect specific food items </strong>for the Lake Brantley Food Pantry. The Boys next game is tomorrow night at home against Seminole with Freshmen playing a 4:30 p.m.; J.V. at 6:00 p.m.; and the Varsity will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. The teams have appreciated the outstanding support they have received from the student section!</p>

The Air Force Ceremonial Brass Band will perform a free concert in the Lake Brantley High School Auditorium on January 16, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. The band, from Washington, DC, will perform all types of music – from Brass Band to Jazz &#038; Contemporary.
