Attention Seniors: Florida State University will be on campus Monday, September 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the Auditorium. Additionally, the University of North Florida will be here on Wednesday, September 29th at 12:00 noon. Please sign up in the Building 8 Office for passes to either visit.
College-bound high school students and their parents are invited to attend Seminole State’s College Night 2010 on October 6, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus Gym in Building H. Representatives from several colleges and universities will be on hand to answer questions and provide information about tuition, registration procedures, academic offerings, intercollegiate sports, housing arrangements, financial aid and more. This event is free and open to the public.
There will be a meeting right after school today in Room 7-104 for anyone who signed up to work on the French Club Homecoming float.
All those who are interested in joining the Asian American Club to meet on Monday in Room 6-125, please bring your $7.00 dues to this meeting. Looking forward to great ideas and seeing you.
The Network will be a holding a meeting Monday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room. Everyone is invited to come join for food, games, and fellowship.

The first NHS meetings for this school year are today and Monday in the Community Room after school. Please make sure you attend as there are changes this year!!
Congratulations to the class of 2013! You have won $500.00 from the Central Florida Educators Credit Union. Your contribution of crayons and erasers for a gift for teaching earned you this donation to your class account. Second place went to the Junior class, third place to the Freshmen class and fourth place to the Seniors. Thanks to all students who so generously donated to this very worthy cause. You have made a difference in the lives of students in Central Florida who cannot afford these supplies.
The Young Designer’s Club will be meeting today after school at 2:30 p.m. in Room 8-119 for those Design Members wanting a club t-shirt. Please remember to bring your $10.00 to Mrs. Houston by next week.
Students, you can pre-order your Homecoming t-shirt today and next Monday or Tuesday at the Homecoming Ticket Counter in Building 1. The cost is $10.00. No shirts will be sold after Tuesday until Homecoming week when the cost will go up to $15.00.
Girls Soccer conditioning starts Monday at 3:30 at the Outback Fields. Please ensure your white card is filled out completely. Please bring your running shoes and your cleats. Conditioning will begin promptly at 3:30 p.m.

The Freshmen Football Team continued its winning ways by beating a tough Oviedo team on Wednesday. The Patriots had stellar play by its defense and a strong running game on offense. A last second field goal by the Patriots lifted them to a thrilling come from behind 17 to 14 victory! Come out and support our future stars next week at Home against Lake Howell. Kick off is at 5:30 p.m.
The Junior Varsity Football Team ran its record to 2-0 with a 40-0 shut-out of Oviedo Wednesday night. The offense dominated the score and time of possession with 326 yards rushing. The defense allowed only one first down while keeping Oviedo on its side of the field most of the night. The J.V. travels to Lake Howell to take on the Silver Hawks next Wednesday following the Freshmen game.

There is an opportunity for female students interested in engineering majors and careers through Georgia Tech’s Engineering Career Conference scheduled for October 7th and 8th. This two-day event designed specifically for high school girls, to introduce them to each of the 11 engineering majors offered at Georgia Tech. Eleventh and twelfth graders who wish to serve their school and community and who also have a 3.4 grade point average or above and who wish to join Beta Club, please pick up an application in Room 6-121 or on the Beta Board in Building 8 or from Room 5-004. Turn in completed applications to Ms. Nott in Room 6-121 by Friday, September 17th.
Habitat for Humanity in Seminole County is looking for volunteers for it annual Longwood Haunt throughout the month of October. If any clubs, organizations or individuals are interested in this and other volunteer opportunities, please see Ms. Garnes in the Building 6 Office for more information.

The Girls Golf Team improved their record to 3-0 with a win over Winter Springs yesterday. Scoring for the Lady Patriots were Molly Peel, Samantha Sellers, Deanne Young and Anja Erwin. Their next match is today against Lyman at the Wekiva Golf Course.
The Boys J.V. Golf Team won their first match 165-190 against Lake Highland Prep at Wekiva. Freshman sensation Christian Bieneme shot an even par 36. Sophomore Kyle Jones contributed with a 42, Andrew Carson 44, and Payton Olsen a 45. The boys take on Bishop Moore today at Dubsdread.
The Girls Varsity Volleyball Team ran their record to 3-0 in a come from behind victory over Lake Howell. The girls were down 2 games to zero and won three straight games to remain tied for first place in the Seminole Athletic Conference. The team was led by Freshman Tori Smartt 13 kills, and Sophomore Hailey Luke 33 assists. The Girls play at Home tonight at 7 p.m. against Lake Mary, the only other unbeaten team in the conference.

Hey Lake Brantley – Get on Deck and get ready for our rapidly approaching Homecoming! The week of September 20th will kick off the Homecoming Festivities leading up to the game against the Seabreeze Sand Crabs. Then on Saturday, get aquatic with your fellow Patriots for an off the “hook” Homecoming Dance. Tickets for the dance will go on sale starting today for $20.00. They will be available before school, during both lunches, and after school at the counter outside of Attendance in Building 1. The following week tickets will be $25.00 and Homecoming Week, the price rises to $30.00. Non-Brantley guest forms will be available.

Listen up Patriots: Due to the Labor Day holiday CFE has extended the deadline for turning school supplies until today at 2:00 p.m. The class with the most supplies will win $500.00. Not afraid to show off your brains? Tend to know most of the “Jeopardy” answers when you watch it? The Lake Brantley Academics Team needs you. We meet every Friday in Room 7-119, for practice with questions, and sometime practice with buzzers.
