Attention Seniors: College reps from all over the country and Florida will visit our campus throughout the year. The following reps are coming to Lake Brantley over the next couple of weeks: SMU, Mercer, Northeastern, Florida International, University of Alabama, University of Florida, Elon, Rollins and UCF. If interested, sign up for a pass in the Building 8 office and keep listening to the announcements for more college visits.
The French Club will meet today in Room 7-104 right after school.

Brantley – Get on deck and get ready for our rapidly approaching Homecoming. The week of September 20th will kick off the Homecoming festivities leading up to the game against the Seabreeze Sand Crabs. Then on Saturday, get aquatic with your fellow Patriots for an off the “hook” Homecoming dance. Tickets for the dance will go on sale starting Tuesday, September 7th for $20.00. They will be available before school, during both lunches, and after school at the counter outside of Attendance in Building 1. The following week tickets will be $25.00 and Homecoming week, the price increases to $30.00. Non-Brantley guest forms will be available.
Listen up Patriots: Due to the Labor Day Holiday CFE has extended the deadline for turning school supplies at the Credit Union until Tuesday, September 7th at 2:00 p.m. we must have your supplies by then. The class with the most supplies will win $500.00. The winner will be announced on the morning show on Friday, September 10th. Patriots do make a difference and your contributions can make a $500.00 difference in your class account.
Are you interested in interior design? Do you want to leave your mark at our school? If you answered “yes”, then please come and join the Young Designer’s Club. The Young Designer’s Club meeting is today after school in Room 8-113 from 2:30 to 3:30. That’s Room 8-113. Hope to see you there!!!!

The Boys Varsity Golf Team opened their season in a tri-match with Trinity Prep and Lake Highland Prep at beautiful Heathrow Country Club. Despite good rounds from Reed Berry 37 and Preston Gillion 38, the Patriots came up a little short. Junior A.J. Visicio and Sophomore Mitchell Jordan shot 43 and 46 to round out the top four scores.

Art students: The first Art Honor Society meeting will be held today after school in Room 7-105.

Attention all students: Tonight at open house, the Peer Counseling Class will be having a huge Bake Sale with lots of goodies. The following food vendors will be participating: Gators Dockside, Jimmy John’s, Planet Smoothie, Christopher’s Pizza, Subway, Wendy’s, Chick-Fil-A and many, many more. 100% of the money raised will be donated to Nathaniel’s Hope, an organization that helps kids with special needs. So, come hungry and tell your parents to come hungry and help support a great cause. There will be plenty of food for everyone!!

Yesterday, the Girls Varsity Bowling Team played a challenging match against Seminole High School. The team scored a total of 1707 pins. Lyndsey Condoleo scored a high of 154 with a 395 series, Emily Armistead with an 81, Christina Palmer with an 86, Paige Fink with a 146 and a 386 series, Julie Hogan with a 162 and a 410 series, Pam Ochoa with a 101, and Danielle Shea with an 88. The Boys team defeated Seminole High School boys, with an astonishing 2753 to 2442! A difference of 311 pins. High games were from Ray Lopez with a 192, 177, and for his last game he had a goal of at least 210 which he made and beat with a score of 211 for a series of 580; high of 4 strikes in a row. Steven Sas bowled a rough first game then came back with a 247 and a 201 for a series of 591 with a high of 6 strikes in a row. Ethan Mills bowled a game of 224 for a 568 series with a high of 4 strikes in a row. Andrew Brostrom had high games of 177 and 196 for series of 539 with a high of 3 strikes in a row. The next meet will be held Wednesday at 3:15 at Oviedo lanes against Winter Springs High School. Come out and support your fellow Patriots.
The Slow Pitch Softball Team opened its season yesterday with a pair of wins against Seminole and Lake Mary. The Lady Patriots pounded 13 hits in the “11 to nothing” win against Seminole. Heather Reeves had 3 hits including a home run and Mikaela Aiken also had 3 hits. In the second game the Patriots had 18 hits as they beat Lake Mary “21 to 1″. Heather reeves hit her second homer of the day and had 5 R.B.I.’s to led the attack. Mikaela Aiken had 3 hits in the second game the Patriots had 18 hits as they beat Lake Mary “21 to 1″. The Girls Golf Team defeated Seminole and Crooms yesterday with a score of 191. Molly Peel led all scores with a 43, Samantha Sellers shot a 47 and Anja Erwin had a 49. The Patriots are off to a great start this year.
The Junior Varsity Football Team won their 16th straight game last night by downing the Winter Springs Bears 42 to 7. The Patriots raced to a 28-0 first quarter lead while shutting down the visiting Bears. The defense paced the attack and the offense played a solid first half. The Freshmen Football Team also opened up their season with a 49-18 convincing victory led by the excellent play from the special teams and a strong performance by the offense. Next week the Patriots travel to Oviedo to take on the Lions. It is a double-header with the Freshmen starting at 5:30 p.m Let’s come out and support the future of Lake Brantley Football.

Far Away Place – Project Ukraine will have their first meeting of the year today in Room 7-212. Bring your $5.00 dues to the meeting. This meeting will plan our agenda for the first semester.

There will be a MANDATORY Girls Basketball meeting today after school from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Main Gym for all girls who are interested in playing Basketball this upcoming year. This includes incoming Freshmen and all returning players.

The Girls Volleyball Team opened their 2010 season with a win at Seminole last night. The team beat Seminole 3 games to zero. The team was led by Sophomore Hailey Luke with 29 assists, Senior Jen Pena and Freshmen Tori Smartt with 7 kills each.

The Girls and Boys Bowling Teams opened their seasons with victories over Lake Howell. The Girls scored a total of 1714 pins. Lyndsey Condoleo scored a high of 115, Emily Armistead with an 88, Christina Palmer with an 87, Paige Fink with a 112, Julie Hogan with a 154, Pam Ochoa with a 116, and Danielle Shea who set a personal record of 167. The Boys beat Lake Howell 2716 to 2289, a difference of 420 pins. High games from Steven Sas with a 211, 205, and a 203 for a 619 series. Steven had 5 strikes in a row; Ray Lopez had high games of 214, 187, and a 200 for a 601 series. Ray had 4 strikes in a row; Andrew Brostrom rolled high games 191 and 171; Ethan “Power Mill” Mills with a 198, 185, and a 185 for a 568 series. Ethan had 4 strikes in a row. The next meet will be held Wednesday at 3:15 p.m. at Casselberry Lanes against Seminole. Come out and support your fellow Patriots.

The class that donates the most school supplies for students in need will receive $500.00 from Central Florida Educators Federal Credit Union. Bins are located in the Brantley Branch. Seniors: spiral notebooks and packs of paper; Juniors: pencils and pens; Sophomores: erasers and crayons; Freshmen: folders and binders. Learn to Row Week starts today and continues through Saturday. Students from all grades are invited to row with 2010 State and National Medalists. This is a time to try an amazing sport and meet new friends. This year the rowing team will travel throughout the state of Florida, and also to Boston, Tennessee, Philadelphia and New York.
