There will be a SECME Engineering Club Meeting Monday after school in Room 5-010. We build bottle rockets, gliders, mouse trap cars and robotics.

Attention all students: Your class could win $500.00! The Gift for Teaching Campaign continues until September 3rd, so time is running out. The class that donates the most school supplies for students in need will receive $500.00 from Central Florida Educators Federal Credit Union. Bins are located in the Brantley Branch. Seniors: Spiral notebooks and packs of paper; Juniors: Pencils and pens; Sophomores: Erasers and crayons; Freshmen: Folders and binders. Please support this worthy cause and help your class earn $500.00.

Attention all new members of the Student athletic Leadership Team, (aka SALT): Our first meeting will be held Monday at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room. If you have any questions contact Mrs. Kelly, Elaine Saso or Lucas Ryan.

Lake Brantley merchandise and pre-sale football tickets will be on sale today during both lunches and after school. Tickets are $6.00. There are lots of new shirts and spirit items – show your school colors tonight when we play Wekiva High School here at Lake Brantley.

Learn to Row Week starts Monday, August 30th and continues through Saturday, September 4th. Students from all grades are invited to row with 2010 State and National Medalists. This is a time to try an amazing sport and meet new friends. This year the rowing team will travel throughout the state of Florida, and also Boston, Tennessee, Philadelphia and New York. Attention all Beta Club Seniors: If you are interested in running for office, please pick up an application in Room 5-004. All applications are due Friday.

The Lake Brantley Players are hosting their Annual Open House today at 6:00 p.m. in the Auditorium. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of theatre is welcome! If you would like to learn how to get involved in theater, take a tour of our facilities and meet new and exciting people, please stop by! If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Jordan in Room 3-019.

Are you in OJT or Early Childhood and interested in a part-time job after school? Seminole County’s After School Program is hiring students to work at local elementary schools. Please see Mrs. Lanier in Room 7-124 for additional information and application forms.

Student planners are still being sold in the Building 8 office. The cost is $5.00.

Students, all late picture orders that were taken at pre-school processing must be in by Thursday. Please bring your money enclosed in the envelope provided by Dean Stewart to Mrs. Hall in the Bookkeeping Office in Building 1. All checks must be made out to Dean Stewart.

Auditions for the one act musical….tick, tick….boom! are being held tomorrow after school in the Auditorium. Please prepare two 16-bar pieces, one being a ballad and the other being a monologue. All Varsity and Junior Varsity Football Players are to report to the Plato Lab immediately after school today at 2:30 for Impact testing. Please be on time.

Forrest Risner participated in the 2010 WWA Wakeboarding National Championships this summer in Reno, Nevada and won the Amateur Wakeskate Division. This qualified him to compete for the U.S.A.. in the 2010 WWW Wakeboarding World Championships in Orlando this past weekend and he won! Forrest is the 2010 Amateur Wakeskate world Champion!!
